Rajneeti…….
I was wondering if I have to write about this what would it be?? Then a thought struck…….the movie was indeed Mahabharata in contemporary times!!
Mahabharata is the original piece of politics…..even this movie could only portray some of it but still managed to steal the soul of the original political drama and fix it properly in the modern times.
Nana and Ranbir playing the intelligent duo…rest all are part of the bloodshed!
I was wondering if I could ruthlessly categorically put people into good or bad, right or wrong!! The answer is no! Certainly not!! All were just victims of emotions……a whirlpool of emotions……greed of power, a sense of responsibility, revenge!
As Ranbir Kapoor puts it simply “I was scared of politics coz it has the ability to bring out the evil in me” So true!! It brings out evil in all of us!!
Back in the Dwapar Yug, I wonder, why Krishna sided with the Pandavs!! What was wrong with the Kauravs!! Both wanted power!! Both were victims of emotions …..powerful emotions of power, greed, love, obedience, respect, betrayal!! The war was the consequent of these treacherous elements equally shared by both….. I guess the reason is how well you deal with the emotions…..the kauravs were little on the aggressive and destroyer side and Pandavs on the assertive and responsible side!!
The victory of Katrina Kaif in the end reaffirmed my reason!!
But what always stays in the memory is Karan of Mahabharata and Ajay Devgan of Rajneeti!! Victims of destiny but men of character!!
